Your privacy at MDAR
MDAR operates under the name MDAR DATA. This policy explains the personal information we collect when you visit our website, join the waitlist or use our investment research and portfolio tools, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
What we collect and why
Account information. We collect your email, account details and preferences, such as your chosen language. We use them to manage the waitlist and invitations, set up your account and remember your settings. We may send confirmation, invitation and account-recovery messages. Joining the waitlist does not automatically give you access.
Portfolios and holdings. We process portfolio names, stocks, quantities, purchase costs, dates, currencies and notes you enter, along with information you submit for a portfolio review. We use this to display your holdings, provide research and portfolio-review tools, and save information you choose to keep in your account.
Support messages. When you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments. We use them to answer your questions and handle your request. Please avoid sending passwords, verification codes or sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.
Usage and security information. We process technical information such as your internet address (IP address), pages or requests reaching the service, and sign-in activity. This helps us operate the website, diagnose problems, check access and investigate misuse. Some of this information can be associated with your account. PostHog also receives your IP address and browser connection information when your browser sends analytics.
Signing in with Google
When Google sign-in is available and you choose it, we receive basic account information through our sign-in service, such as your name, email address and profile details. We use it to recognize your account and sign you in. We do not receive your Google password or request access to Gmail messages, contacts or Google Drive files. Signing out of MDAR does not sign you out of Google. Removing the connection in your Google account settings does not delete your MDAR account or its saved information.
Service providers and international processing
When available, Clerk provides account registration and sign-in, and Google provides Google sign-in when you choose it. We use Zoho Mail for support correspondence, and Hetzner and Neon for hosting and storage. These providers process information needed to deliver those services.
Our application and primary account data are hosted in Germany. PostHog hosts our analytics data in the European Union. Some providers also process personal information in other countries.
Usage analytics
We use PostHog to understand how MDAR is used and improve the service. Analytics uses browser and account identifiers to recognize returning users, but excludes names, email addresses and portfolio contents.
Keeping your information
Information saved in your account lets us display your portfolios and remember your preferences when you return. We also retain waitlist information, support correspondence and security records for the purposes described above. Retention needs vary by the information and its purpose; you can contact us about your information or request deletion.
Requesting account deletion is different from signing out. Some information may remain in backups for a period after removal from the systems in active use. We will explain the scope of your request and any applicable limits on deletion when handling it.
Your rights and how to contact us
Contact MDAR DATA at support@mdar.ai to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, obtain a portable copy of your data, or complain to a data-protection authority.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request to protect your information from unauthorized access. Describe your request without sending passwords or verification codes.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy when our use of personal information changes. The date above identifies the version you are reading. For questions about privacy, contact support@mdar.ai.
